Sweet Herbal Congee

Start or end the day with our nourishing and delicious bowl of Sweet Herbal Congee. It is a traditional Chinese rice porridge. offering several benefits in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Oursis like a sticky rice pudding, made even better with the added benefits of five Chinese herbs vital for supporting a woman's health. It’s warming, filling and tastes like a treat! Each herb has been thoughtfully selected for their replenishing properties. Their enriching benefits combine to tonify “Qi”, nourish “Yin”, harmonize the digestive system, and promote gentle and soothing energy.

The heart, spleen, stomach and liver are all supported. It can help to warm the body and calm the spirit. Ideal for consumption around the time of menstruation, throughout the postpartum period, and to help promote breast milk production in mothers who choose to breastfeed.


To add

6 cups of water, fresh ginger (optional), yogurt (optional).



Add water to large saucepan, bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer. Add entire contents of this packet, simmer for 1-1.5 hours (or until all liquid has gone and it is thick and pudding-like). Stir the congee regularly. You may need to add more water if it becomes dry. Ladle into a bowl and top with goji berries fresh ginger or yogurt (all optional). Refrigerate leftovers and reheat over stove.
